future mobile communication forum, established in october in 2005, has been making great progresses during the past year with the support from the corresponding governmental departments and the effort by the working group members and the secretariat. as the communication bridge between the forum and the members, the contact persons have been playing an important role and making great efforts as well.

in order to summarize the work during the past year and to enhance the communication between members, the forum secretariat organized the contact person conference on november 29th of 2006 during the period of the 4th working group meeting, which was attended by over 70 representatives from forum members and secretariat.

on the conference, the forum secretariat expressed the gratitude to the members and the contact persons for their support and effort made for the forum’s work and consulted with the contact persons on the future working plans. the representatives exchanged their opinions on the past work and ideas on the future work, and made many suggestions and advice to the secretariat. it was consentaneously agreed that the working groups had achieved a lot in the compilation of the white papers and that the secretariat had made great efforts in effectively organizing working group meetings, absorbing various powers, and enlarging the influences of the forum. the representatives suggested that more after-meeting communications of various modes should be organized in the future. in addition, the representatives from the members offered some valuable suggestions to the routine work of the forum secretariat which were quite significant for the later work of the forum. the conference achieved the anticipated effects, and the forum secretariat would organize more communicative activities of various types in the future in order to collect more opinions and to make the forum’s work more effective.
