research | 2021/10/21the third working group meeting of future mobile communication forum 5g/6g sig kicks off in beijing on october 20, 2021. representatives of member units and talents in the industry from such institutions and enterprises as china mobile, china telecom, china unicom, huawei, zte, cict mobile, nokia shanghai bell, lenovo, qualcomm, intel, oppo, vivo, xiaomi, honor, apple, tcl, fujitsu, tsinghua university, xidian university, shanghai university, shanghai institute of microsystem and information technology (simit), zhejiang lab attended the meeting.
the meeting was presided by dr. chih-lin i, chief scientist of china mobile research institute (cmri) and president of future forum 5g/6 g sig. the meeting discussed the following topics, including icdt integrated 6g network 2.0; the next-generation protocol stack-ran architecture, protocol stack and function; intelligent metasurface for 5g and 6g; white paper progress update on sub-thz communication; terminal friendly 6g technology; zero-power consumption communications; preliminary study of advanced technologies towards 6g era: qits; research on evolutionary multiple access technology; digital twin technology for 6g, etc. the expert representatives of the leading units introduced their progress in preparing the white papers in detail. the white papers for the above nine topics are planned to be completed at the end of this month and will be officially released during the 2021 global 6g conference.
