the 2021 second working group meeting of future mobile communication forum was held in beijing on april 21, 2021. this meeting includes working meetings of the 5g/6g sig working group and the 5g broadcast video working group.

on the working meetings of the 5g/6g sig working group, leading experts in charge of the preparation of the white papers reported their progress. experts from samsung and unisoc were also invited to share the topics of "samsung view on 5g advance" and "6g: technology featuring boundlessness and ai". after discussion and decision at the meeting, the 5g/6g sig working group will release 9 white papers in 2021, including 6g overall white paper 2.0, next generation protocol stack 4.0, thz communication, terminal friendly 6g technology, preliminary study of advanced technologies towards 6g era: qits, research on evolutionary multiple access technology, intelligent metasurface for 5g and 6g, and white paper of zero-power consumption communications.

the 5g broadcast video working group discussed the annual plan output of "overview of mobile broadcast" and "wireless video return technology and its challenges". the "overview of mobile broadcast" comprehensively sorted out the scenarios, use cases and requirements of mobile broadcast, and compared the characteristics of different mobile broadcast technologies. the "wireless video return technology and its challenges" summarized the current video uplink transmission use cases and the corresponding transmission requirements, and proposed analysis and suggestions for the transmission protocols and mobile network transmission. the working group will further analyze the requirements, scenarios and technologies of 5g broadcast technology based on the 5g broadcast technology application and the 5g broadcast technology scheme issued in 2020.
