sino-japan workshop on the next generation mobile communication technologies and applications 2014 was held during june 19th and 21st in okinawa of japan, co-hosted by future forum, yrp, ict forum, and ieice. over 60 experts from almost 30 research institutes, universities, and companies attended this workshop. the chinese embassy in japan highly supported this workshop and leaders from chinese embassy made congratulatory address on the workshop.

sino-japan workshop on the next generation mobile communication technologies and applications has been organized for several years, during which the both sides have been learning from each other, giving play to the complementary advantages, and reached remarkable results.

continuously promoted by future forum and yrp, effective communication and exchange has been carried on between chinese and japanese academia, industrial circle, and even governments so that the official and civil technical exchanges have been greatly promoted.

i believe that larger progresses will be achieved on key 5g technologies through mutual communication and cooperation. this workshop provides a good chance for all the experts to make full exchange here and to jointly promote the development of the next generation mobile communication technologies.

on this workshop, the experts from both sides had in-depth discussion on 5g, 2020 and beyond, imt-2020, millimeter wave and terahertz wave, internet of things and m2m coomunications, and space communication. the sino-japan joint fund project, through 2 years efforts, has almost closed and reported their remarkable results achieved on the key future ict technologies.
