the first working group meeting of 2013 held in beijing

the first working group meeting of 2013 was held in science&technology building of bupt from march 14th to 15th. seven groups, including wg1-wg6 and bwa had their sub-group meetings during the two days. the meeting received 16 papers and was attended by over 40 experts from 26 members.

wg1&2 discussed the proposal on wlan 3gpp wireless networking scenarios and requirements by cmcc, and made the final examination and revision on future hit white paper. in order to meet the requirements on the future indoor and hotspot regions, futre hit (future hotspot indoor technology) white paper was proposed and finally completed through one-year discussion and improvement. wg3 reviewed china's spectrum allocation in the last year, wrc15 1.1 subjects, and the progress on the research on the key frequency band, and began to solicit and draft china's suggestion white paper for wrc-15. wg4 and wg5 continued to focus on the latest progress of 3gpp standardization, new mimo technologies, and d2d key technologies. wg6 continued the previous woring route on the research on future wireless network structure including broadband wireless access network, household wireless network, d2d network, industrial network, self-organized network, and ubiquitous heterogeneous network. bwa shared and discussed the latest progress on 863 project on 60ghz short-distance communication.   

with the initiation of the r&d of 5g technology, international and regional organizations and governments set up relative r&d projects in succession. the stresses of future working groups will transfer to the r&d of 5g technology, from technical requirement, application scenarios to possible candidate technology, laying a solid foundation for the development and standardization of 5g technologies.
