the third working group meeting of 2011 and annual membership meeting of future forum were held in xiamen. mr. yang zemin, secretary-general of ccsa, prof. you xiaohu, secretary-general of future forum; prof. wang jing from tsinghua university, mr. li hengshuai, director of spectrum planning division of bureau of radio regulation attended the summary meeting, giving earnest expectation and valuable suggestions to the future development of future forum.

prof. you xiaohu and prof. wang jing proposed some new research stresses for future forum, including cross-layer design, green communication, ipv6 development in mobile communication system, short-distance wireless communication technologies, civil-oriented satellite mobile communication system, and beyond 4g technologies.

with the flourishing of iot and mobile internet as well as the integration of industrialization and informationalization, mobile communication industry will lead to the deep convergence with other fields. future forum will accordingly adjust its orientation. prof. you pointed out that ict is at a platform of growth and it is difficult for the technical revolution to be carried out recently, but ict field will be faced with the impact caused by service applications. in the coming few years, technical integration and convergence will be mainly reflected in the development. mobile internet industry, tri-play networks, iot industry will become the stresses in ict field. mr. yang zemin addressed that the global ict development orientation has been transformed, and ict industry will serve all the trades and make efforts to promote the development of iot and mobile internet. future forum should set its foot in china’s industrial development while promoting global mainstream technologies.

all the countries has begun the deployment of new spectrum bands according to the wrc-07 results. high-efficient spectrum utilization has been the focus of future forum research. mr. li hengshuai pointed out that with the development of wireless services, spectrum resources have become more and more important and the relative spectrum management has grown difficult. as a forward-looking technical forum, future forum should stand at a higher position providing more beneficial references and suggestions on the rational application of spectrum resources from all aspects such as technical development, resource situation, and market situation.

it is still pointed out on the summary meeting that future forum will put more efforts to promote the industrialization of academic results, stressing on digging outstanding research results from universities, introducing forward-looking thoughts into the research of future forum. in addition, future forum will draw a head on the national major technological projects such as state major special project and 863 plan, strengthen the members understanding of those national major projects, and promote the communication between the members and the project undertakers.
